Last night, Bass Victim took over Baby's All Right for their sold-out NYC debut, presented by Perfectly Imperfect. The venue’s light-up wall full of acrylic ashtrays set the perfect backdrop for this high-energy electronic duo, with one in every five people smoking a cigarette in the crowd.
my phone fell out of my pocket and, by the time I retrieved it, both sides were shattered, and the screen was nonfunctional - a testament to the night’s performance.
Bass Victim’s music and mystique made for a live show that exceeded all expectations. When someone from the crowd yelled out for the acoustic version of their newest release, “Alice,” lead singer Maria responded, “This isn’t ‘Bass Folk Victim,’” and continued with their bass-heavy, highly produced tracks. There was a seamlessness between her preforming on the stage, dancing in the crowd, and stage diving, creating a dynamic flow through out the venue.
The set climaxed with their track “As Long As,” during which Maria invited everyone on stage. The resulting blend of fans and performers created an entrancing finale.
